Unlike personal profiles, pages do not gain "friends," but "fans" - which are people who choose to "like" a page. Pages can gain an unlimited number of fans. Pages work similarly to profiles, updating users with things such as statuses, links, events, photos, and videos. This information appears on the page itself, as well as in its fans' personal news feeds.

This analysis checks if a business has a Facebook page.

Why do we check for this?

An engaging Facebook page gives customers the sense that they know you and your business, which can increase loyalty and make them more likely to recommend your services. With a Facebook page you can reach individual users who are most likely to be interested in your company. It is a great approach to encourage activity about your site on Facebook

How do we check for this?

While testing the website, we scan all homepage links for Facebook page links and validate them. For each of the Facebook pages that are matched, we pull out the information. For instance, if we found 2 facebook urls, we will match with the business name. If the match percentage is more than 30, we will consider the facebook url as business page url. We will also check if any facebook icon present in homepage.If we have more than 1 Facebook page, we will consider the facebook page which has maximum number of likes.

If we doesn't find any matches with the above procedure then we use Facebook Source to pull the information.

What can I do about it?

Consider boosting your posts or enhancing their quality. If you doesn't post frequently enough, you won’t look as reliable or authentic.

  • Leverage Facebook's targeting tools. i.e. Facebook allows you to target specific audiences with specific updates -- be it gender, relationship or educational status, age, location, language, or interests, you can segment individual page posts by these criteria
  • You can also pin important posts to the top of your page which requires attention.
  • Low quality posts will be identified by Facebook and shown to less people.
  • Boosting a post (paid advertising) to your brand or business will reach more followers.

Engagement is liking, sharing or commenting on a Facebook post.

  • Less than <percentage%> of this business followers engage with each post on average.
  • An engagement of 5% per post or higher is considered good.

Regular posts help retain existing followers and boost engagement.

For what reason wouldn't you be able to discover my Facebook page?

Probably if it is not linked from the business website or the information furnished while adding the profile for any of these such as Website, Phone Number and Business Name is incorrect.

My Facebook page is linked correctly but you still can't find it?

We can able to find only public Facebook business pages. If the facebook page is private or only accessible from a certain region then we won't be able to detect it. We are also unable to analyze other types of Facebook accounts, like personal profiles and groups.

Can I input the Facebook page social handle myself to the report?

Yes, you can add this yourself from the Fine Tune Page.

Twitter business accounts are an effective social media marketing tool for a business.

About the Test

This analysis checks if a business has a Twitter account.

Why do we check for this?

A business' level of activity and presence on Twitter is a major reflection of their marketing strategies.

How do we check for this?

To validate if a business has a Twitter business account, BuzzBoard first scans the business’ homepage links for reference to a Twitter URL. BuzzBoard scans and validates a variety of avenues. As a secondary check, the Twitter API is used to verify the business name as well as the business’s location. If a 95% match is obtained for these categories, BuzzBoard considers the business to be present on Twitter. If the initial check does not find a verified Twitter business account, the same procedure is conducted using just the first 3 words of the business’ name.

What can I do about it?

  • Increase tweet quality to improve outreach.
  • Ensure that the business is posting effective and engaging tweets with hashtags experiences 2 times more engagement than tweets without.
  • Start providing a "Follow me on Twitter" link via emails, blogs, social networks, etc. to grow the prospect's following.
  • Draft tweets that aim for at least 1% engagement.
  • Regular tweets help retain existing followers and raise engagement.

Why do we check for this?

Videos are a great way of engaging with website visitors. When posting on a video sharing site, like YouTube, a video can also help drive more traffic to a website.

How do we check for this?

Buzzboard Scans the website Home Page for YouTube links and checks the YouTube API for a match.

What can I do about it?

Here are a few tips to help improve their your channel and drive traffic to the website:

  • Create and share relatable/useful videos which encourage the viewers to share.
  • Include a clickable call-to-action on your video which takes the viewer to the business' website.

FAQ(s)

If there is a video about the business on YouTube, why wasn't it detected as the business YouTube Channel?

A video is different from having a channel associated with a business. BuzzBoard will detect the channel only when its name and business name match over 90%. Having a channel with a drastically different name from your business name will confuse your visitors and create difficulty in finding your channel.

If the business has a YouTube channel but it wasn't detected, Can I put in the YouTube channel URL to the report myself?

Yes, you can add the URL yourself with the Customize Profile button.


linkedinLinkedIn Page

LinkedIn is a business and employment-oriented social networking service that operates via websites and mobile apps. A LinkedIn Company Page helps others learn more about your business, brand, products and services, and job opportunities.

Why do we check for this?

A LinkedIn business page adds to your professional network, increases your credibility, and attracts new business.

How do we check for this?

Buzzboard scans the website homepage for LinkedIn expressions or links. We also check our LinkedIn API for a match.

What can I do about it?

Here are a few tips to help improve the business' page:

  • Companies that post 20 times a month, on average, reach 60% of their followers; and 20% of followers are typically reached with one status update.

To perform the test, BuzzBoard checks the business' website for Pinterest links in addition to scouring the internet for other affiliations.

What can I do about it?

Consider the following to enhance Pinterest performance:

  • Create Pins that direct viewers to a business' valuable resources.
  • Use relevant keywords in their Board names.
  • Increase your repins and engagement.
  • Aim to grow your followers and outreach.

Are there any scenarios where the business' Instagram account may not be found?
